Dec 27 1987 George is on a BBC Radio One special for ‘Cloud Nine.'

Dec 30 1987 George appears on ‘Rockstars' on KLOS-FM in Los Angeles.

Jan 16 1988 ‘Got My Mind Set on You' (s) hits # 1 in the US.

Jan 20 1988 The Beatles are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. George attends the ceremony at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. After the ceremony, he joins in an informal jam session. George and Bob Dylan (who was also newly inducted) perform ‘All Along The Watchtower.'

Feb 10 1988 George appears on ‘Rockline' on KLOS radio in Los Angeles. He's interviewed, takes phone calls from the audience, and sings a medley of portions of his favorite songs.

Feb 12 1988 George appears on BBC1's ‘Wogan' TV show live via satellite from Los Angeles.

Feb 15 1988 ‘Songs By George Harrison,' a limited edition book accompanied by either a CD or EP, is released. The CD/EP has 4 songs, 3 of them previously unreleased.

Mar 18 1989 George, Olivia, Ringo and his wife Barbara attend the London premiere of ‘The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen,' starring George's friend, Eric Idle of Monty Python.

Mar 22, 23 1989 George and Tom Petty shoot a video for Tom's ‘I Won't Back Down.' Ringo was present on the 22nd.

Sep 2 1989 ‘Network East Tribute to Ravi Shankar' is aired on BBC TV to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ravi's first public recital. Includes footage of George.

Nov 28 1989 George tells a reporter that there will be no Beatles reunion "so long as John Lennon remains dead."

Feb 21 1990 ‘The Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1' wins a Grammy for Best Rock Performance. George does not attend the ceremony.

Mar 14 1990 George and Olivia attend Michael Caine's 57th birthday bash. George asks reporters surrounding his car, "What's it feel like to be a wild animal?"

Mar 16 1990 HandMade Films' ‘Nuns on the Run' opens.

Apr 1990 Each of the Beatles has an asteroid named after them. Minor planet # 4149 is called Harrison. Minor planets, or asteroids, are chunks of rock in orbit between Mars and Jupiter.

Apr 16 1990 George appears in Jim Capaldi's video for ‘Oh Lord, Why Lord.' George had done backup for the same song on Capaldi's album ‘Some Come Running.' The video was the only promo video shown at the Nelson Mandela concert at Wembley.

Apr/May 1990 The Traveling Wilburys record in Bel Air, California for their next album, and the song ‘Nobody's Child' for the album ‘Nobody's Child: Romanian Angel Appeal.' (In 1961 the Beatles backed Tony Sheridan on ‘Nobody's Child.')

May 1990 The Romanian Angel Appeal, founded by Olivia, Elton John, Barbara, Linda and Yoko, acquires charitable status. Fund-raising for orphanages and hospitals with infants with AIDS will be organized by Olivia.

May 1 1990 George makes an unscheduled appearance at Eric Clapton's concert at the Los Angeles Forum.

May 2 1990 The Daily Mirror reports the arrest of a man suspected of sending death threats to George's home. (see Dec 16 1996)

May 2 1990 A corporate group involving George (it's a legal thing) files a civil complaint to delete description of a path near George's Maui home from all property records. (see late 1982)

May 21 1990 USA Today interviews George.

May 31 1990 Olivia arrives home safely after surviving an earthquake that occurred during her ongoing volunteer work with Romanian orphans.

Jun 20 1990 George appears on BBC Radio One's ‘The Simon Bates Show.'

Nov 5 1990 Bright Tunes' copyright infringement lawsuit against George (‘He's So Fine' and ‘My Sweet Lord') is resolved in favor of the Bright Tunes. In US Federal Court in New York, Judge Owen rules that George will own song rights to both ‘My Sweet Lord' and ‘He's So Fine' in the US, UK and Canada, and ABKCO (Allen Klein's company) will continue to own the rights to ‘He's So Fine' everywhere else. Additionally, ABKCO will receive a percentage of royalties from ‘My Sweet Lord.' (see Sep 7 1976, Feb 26 1981)

Nov 11 1990 An interview with George is aired on London Weekend Television's ‘Sunday Sunday.'

Dec 5 1990 George is interviewed on BBC2's ‘Rapido.'

Jan 7 1991 Two of George's neighbors, Scott Howard Whitney and Steven Philip Gold, file a civil complaint that use of a path near George's home in Maui was being obstructed. (see late 1982, May 2 1990, Mar 11 1992, Mar 1993, Jul 19 1993, Nov 22 1993, Oct 18 1999)

Feb 17 1991 George attends Bob Dylan's concert at Hammersmith Odeon in London.

Mar 2 1991 George makes a surprise appearance at a George Formby fan convention in Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Onstage, George performs on ukulele. George Formby is the ukulele player alluded to at the end of the ‘Free as a Bird' video.

Mar 3 1991 George performs ‘In My Little Snapshot Album' at the George Formby fan convention. George's son, Dhani, makes his performing debut.

Mar 18 1991 The Daily Mail reports that George and Olivia plan to adopt a 7-year-old deaf Romanian boy.

Mar 28 1991 George attends the burial service for Conor Clapton, Eric Clapton's 4-year-old son, who was killed in a fall from a high-rise apartment in New York City. Patti, ex-wife of both George and Eric, also attends.

Aug 1 1991 George records an interview about the CD release of ‘The Concert For Bangla Desh.'

Nov 4 1991 At Bray Film Studios in Berkshire, George and Eric Clapton begin rehearsals for George's tour of Japan.

Nov 29 1991 George and Eric Clapton hold a press conference in Tokyo regarding their upcoming tour of Japan.

Dec 1 1991 George and Eric Clapton begin George's tour of Japan. He performs songs he performed as a Beatle, as well as songs from solo albums.

Dec 7 1991 During his Japanese tour, George visits Hiroshima's Peace Park on the 50th anniversary of Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.

Dec 15 1991 13-year-old Dhani joins George onstage in Tokyo. He does backup vocals and plays the tambourine.

Dec 17 1991 On their last performance in Japan, Dhani again joins George onstage for the finale, ‘Roll Over Beethoven.' This time, he joins his dad and Eric Clapton on guitar.

Dec 18 1991 George's tour of Japan ends.

Apr 5 1992 George announces to the BBC that he will record a new studio album and will tour upon its release. (We're still waiting :-))

Apr 6 1992 George performs at the Royal Albert Hall to support the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Natural Law Party. Ringo and Dhani join in for ‘Roll Over Beethoven.' The NLP is a political party; the Maharishi himself has run for office.

Aug 24 1992 George appears on syndicated radio's Rockline, originating from KLOS-FM in Los Angeles.

Aug 26 1992 ‘Bunbury Tails,' a British cartoon show, airs. George wrote some of the music, including one song featuring George and Ravi on sitar, and Dhani on lead vocal.

Sep 11 1992 US TV's ‘In Concert' features footage of George performing in Japan, including ‘Taxman,' ‘Piggies' and interview clips.

Sep 27 1992 TV special ‘The Making of Sgt. Pepper' is aired on the US's Discovery Channel. (see Apr 12 1992)

Oct 1992 George tapes a voiceover for an episode of ‘The Simpsons,' a US cartoon.

Oct 5 1992 George attends Gary Moore's concert at the Royal Albert Hall and joins Moore onstage for the encore, ‘That Kind Of Woman' / ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps.'

Oct 8 1992 George, Paul and Ringo meet in Paul's MPL office, and are seen leaving together.

Oct 10 1992 a letter to the editor by Olivia Harrison is published in the Guardian, a British paper. It is a scathing diatribe against George biographer and self-proclaimed rock historian, Geoffrey Giuliano.

Oct 16 1992 George participates in a concert at Madison Square Garden to celebrate Bob Dylan's 30th anniversary in the music business. George performed on ‘My Back Pages,' ‘Knockin' On Heaven's Door,' ‘Absolutely Sweet Marie' and ‘If Not For You.' Rehearsals held earlier in the day are available on bootlegs.

Oct 25 1992 George and Gary Moore jam at The Crooked Billet, a pub near George's home in Henley.

Dec 5 1992 In a Billboard interview George says his true birth date is February 24, 1943. He states: "...I only recently learned after all these years that the calendar date and time of my own birth have always been off by one calendar day and about half an hour on the clock."

Dec 9 1992 George receives the first annual Billboard Magazine Century Award. Fellow Traveling Wilbury Tom Petty introduced George.

Dec 10 1992 George appears on US TV's ‘Entertainment Tonight.'

Dec 14 1992 During a benefit concert in Los Angeles for the family of ex-Toto member Jeff Porcaro, who had recently died, George appears onstage with Eddie Van Halen. They perform ‘With a Little Help From My Friends.'

Dec 14 1992 George is deposed in Los Angeles regarding a lawsuit he filed against Globe for an article entitled ‘Beatle George Is Big Nazi Fan.' Not surprisingly, George will later receive a sizeable out-of-court settlement from the tabloid.

Mar 1993 Denis O'Brien, an American attorney who had been handling George's financial affairs for 20 years, resigns.

May 9 1993 George attends the 37th Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.

Jul 19 1993 A trial begins involving neighbors' (Steven Philip Gold and Scott Howard Whitney) use of a path near George's home in Maui. A brief recap: When George bought the property, the sale agreement didn't mention a path, nor did the title search reveal one. Only after he built a house there did George become aware of a nearby path. Concerned about his family's privacy (see May 2 1990 re death threats), George asked neighbors not to use the path. Jul 21 1993 During the course of a trial regarding a land dispute between George and two neighbors over the use of a path near or on George's property on Maui, the Honolulu Advertiser published the following statement by George: "Have you ever been raped? I'm being raped by all these people.... My privacy is being violated." (see Jul 19 1993, Aug 11 1993, Oct 6 1993, Jul 19 1995, Sep 12 1996, Nov 14 1996, Jan 10 1997, Jul 8 1998)

Aug 11 1993 Steven Philip Gold and Scott Howard Whitney file a federal lawsuit in Hawaii's U.S. District Court against George, the Honolulu Advertiser and others alleging, in part, defamation. (see Jul 21 1993)

Sep 30 1993 US TV's ‘The Simpsons' features George's character, to which George did the voiceover. (see Oct 1992)
