What expecting mother wouldn’t want a reminder of her wedding and at the same time the new life she’s carrying at her baby shower?
You can create this unique gift even if you don’t feel you have that “artsy” gene. You can provide mom with lots of items she’ll need and do it in the form of tiered cake. The diaper cake is easy to provide so get ready to make this wonderful, loving gift.
Finish your grocery shopping and head to the baby isle. Get about 60 diapers (you can never buy too many), inch and inch wide baby shower ribbon, 36 to 60 rubber bands, an eight and four ounce bottle of baby lotion or powder, and a plastic or cardboard cake platter. Pick out some baby confetti, a mini-stuffed animal, and any other baby item you want. Now you become the artist.
Set the eight ounce bottle in the center of the platter and imagine it the hub of a wheel. Unfold all the diapers and roll each tightly from front to back holding in place with a rubber band around each center. Stand the rolled diapers around the bottle and place a rubber band around all to hold in place. Make another circle of diapers and hold with a rubber band. Do this again but this time use the inch ribbon to tie each diaper and use the inch ribbon to surround the entire circle. Use the same method forming a second tier. Sit the four ounce bottle on a table and wrap with diapers the same as the others and place it on top.
Decorate with the confetti or whatever other items you choose and, Voila! You have created the gift that will put smiles on mom’s face for many days after the shower has become history.
